This one-pan Lazy Lasagna Skillet delivers all the comforting flavors of lasagna without the layering or extra steps. Made with lean ground beef, a rich tomato sauce, and a golden, broiled cheese topping, it’s an easy, satisfying meal perfect for any night of the week.

 1 lb 93/7 lean ground beef
 1 small onion, diced
 1 small onion, diced
 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
 1 tsp Italian seasoning
 ½ tsp salt
 ½ tsp black pepper
 ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
 8 oz of your favorite pasta (dry) (track separately if needed)
 ½ cup part-skim ricotta cheese
 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
 4 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
 ¼ cup chopped fresh basil

Optional Add-Ins:

  • Bell peppers, mushrooms, zucchini, spinach, kale, shredded carrots, or any other vegetables you have on hand

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta
    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
    • Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown the Beef & Veggies
    • In a large, oven-safe skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
    • Add onion, garlic, and any vegetables. Cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Make the Sauce
    • Stir in crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
    • Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Combine Everything
    • Stir in cooked pasta.
    • Dollop ricotta cheese over the skillet and gently mix.
  5. Broil for a Golden Cheese Crust
    • Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
    • Place under the broiler on high for 2-4 minutes until cheese is melted and golden brown.
  6. Garnish & Serve
    • Sprinkle with fresh basil and serve hot.
